About a week ago, in a ROW80* not so very far away, goals were set and met (for a pleasant change of pace).
Here’s how it’s going:
You can see last week’s goals here.
2/2 scenes reworked. One scene essentially needed to be written from scratch, the other was short and needed little reworking. Still, it’s more than I’ve accomplished with writing in weeks. It felt very good.
I’m seriously questioning the likelihood I’ll get the rest of my manuscript reworked before the end of the year. 8 scenes a week? I must be nuts. Still, I’m going to give it a go this week. Actually, it should be 9-10 scenes, given that I worked on 2 last week. Yeah…I’m going to stick with 8.
I’m able to play O Come, O Come Emmanuel about 2/3 of the way through along with The Piano Guys audio. That’s a pretty big win for me. It’s still squishy in spots, but I’ll smooth it over.
There’s a passage I’ve been playing an octave lower than written because I wasn’t comfortable playing that high on the fingerboard yet. The last passage I worked on taught me some helpful skills for this part, but I still have to go even higher. I don’t know if a week is enough to get me comfortable with the fingerings and playing at tempo. I’ll work on the fingerings first.
3/3 workouts. I’m still at 10 modified push-ups, but moved up to 20 sit-ups.
3 workouts. Increase the difficulty of the modified push-ups (I’ll need to research some exercises) and/or use free weights to strengthen the same muscle groups. 30 sit-ups.
No family movie night. My son had a Boy Scout trip I’d forgotten about.
Spaceballs (1987) will happen this week. Or else.
*ROW80, also known as a Round of Words in 80 days is an opportunity for us to set goals (for writing and/or other areas) and share them with a community ready to keep us accountable and cheer us on. If you’re interested in ROW80, you can find more info here and the latest check in post here.
