*ROW80 update at the bottom of the post
We have a running joke in our family. Whenever we think we misheard someone, we repeat back to that person what it sounded like s/he said. Sometimes, we’re reasonably close. Other times, we’re wildly, hilariously off.
We’re not alone. Lots of folks do this all this time, often without even knowing how off the mark they are.
You see this especially with song lyrics:
*May be a wee bit NSFW, due to language (but only two or three instances…and said in such a great accent…so there’s that).
And now for a ROW80* update.
This has been a challenging week for me. Over the weekend, our car was robbed. We were travelling and had quite a bit with us. The thieves had a lucky night. One of the things that was taken (as it was tucked inside my computer bag) was my current novel notebook with all my latest book notes, revisions, printouts of scenes to be edited and a couple of scenes written in longhand that hadn’t been transcribed to the computer yet. Most of the lost info I can reconstruct, but the loss has hit me a little harder than I thought it would.
I’m still getting my bearings. My cello, health and family goals are all still on track, but the writing is falling behind. I may need to give myself a week or two to get back in the groove.
You can see this week’s goals here.
*ROW80, also known as a Round of Words in 80 days is an opportunity for us to set goals (for writing and/or other areas) and share them with a community ready to keep you accountable and cheer you on. If you’re interested in ROW80, you can find more info here and the latest check in post here.
For my ROW80 and/or goal-having peeps: How’s it rolling for you? Any hitches? Successes, however small?
For all: What’s the funniest misheard incident you’ve had?
