The Milestones are Partying Again

Put on your party hats, it’s time for another Life List Club Milestone Party!

Our old friend Larry the bartender is here again.

He’s always here. It’s almost sad really. The guy’s workaholic. But at least he enjoys his job. And this time he’s offered to be the chef too.

Desmond and Penny are already out on the dance floor.

...and they danced 'til dawn!

You don’t mind a little splash dancing do you?

Tito the bouncer’s here too.

acornBut, shhhh, don’t say anything about the new haircut. He’s still a little sensitive about it.

And now, my fine fellow partygoers, it’s time for the speech…

The Life List Club Milestone Party is a chance to check in on our Life List progress every three months. Here’s mine so far:

  • Write (or rewrite) at least one scene per day, at least 3 days a week on my MIP and finish first draft of MIP by August 1, 2012 (hopefully sooner): I’ve been working on writing new scenes and filling in back story. Probably more filling in back story than writing scenes.
  • Continue to consistently post at least 2 days per week on my blog (plus ROW80 check ins and Life List Club guest posts): I’ve done reasonably well with this goal.
  • Take Sundays entirely off from the web/blog/writing to be with my family: Okay, okay. I “cheated” a couple of days but mostly am a-okay this area.
  • Check into Twitter 1-3 times daily (except for Sunday): This one always gets me, doesn’t it?
  • Read 2 fiction per month: This one can be a struggle at times.
  • Exercise at least 3 days/week (either formal workouts and heavy gardening/housework, etc): I got the Baby Steps going here. And it’s time to move on to the next level.

The last three months have been an opportunity to learn how to juggle a whole lot all at once. Learn something new, and all that.

The first thing on the list for the next three months is to revamp my life List Club goals.

We of the Life List Club has some very exciting news.

  1. GREAT goals and progress! And those pics? Priceless.

No. Sadly, I haven’t yet written my Life List Goals. But, I want in on the fun. We can join, but won’t be able to join the lofty ranks of blog hopping until our name cycles to the top, right? Wrong?

No matter. I can put up a Life List tab and get going on my own.

SO excited about Sherry Isaac joining all of you. Off now to hop through the list. Want to check in with those who managed to make goals and report back on them.

Sonia! Each time I visit, I notice you’re added additional zing to your site. Looking good!

    1. Gloria, if you’re interested in joining the Life List Club as an author, drop Marcia a line at Marcia DOT a DOT Richards AT gmail DOT com. Life List Club thrives on authors who can share their point of view and their goals.

  2. I agree with Gloria – your site is smokin’ hot these days! I love the new header photo. And I love seeing us all chase our goals and strut around proudly for a day or two. It’s a lovely, lovely thing. 🙂

Keep at it, girl…you’re rockin’ it!

  3. <~ so totally jealous of your new blog layout! I know I said it before, but some things just need repeating! Love it, love it, love it.

You are doing such a phenomenal job! I am so oodles of noodles happy for you!
    😀

  4. I absolutely love the new header 🙂 Congrats on another LLC milestone. I find that taking an entire day off from social media/work is one of the hardest things to do. It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s more like I start to worry that I’m not putting in enough time. So that’s also one of the things I’m working on.

    1. I hear you on feeling like you’re not putting in enough time. That’s one of the reasons why I force myself to take a day off. And sometimes I’m still tempted to get online. But it does me a world of good to have that day off. You must try it. 😀

  5. You always find the most awesome pictures! Love it! You’re making good progress, as always, Sonia! Congrats. Just think, maybe at the next Milestone party you’ll be able to say you’re just about done with your book!! You’re a great asset to LLC as all of of our writers are…we’re a rocking group!

    1. Thank you so much for the encouragement, Marcia. The Life List Club and ROW80 have taught me worlds about reaching my goals. I can’t thank you guys enough. And I do hope I can say that I’m almost done with my book at the next milestone party. 😀 😀 😀

  6. Hi Sonia, Another LLC bash! Sure, I’ll have a glass of champagne. I see that you also want to read two fiction books a month (this is a goal I stole from Jess.) *Whispers* So what’s with Tito’s haircut? Oh oh, sorry I asked.

Something I need to work on is posting regularly to my blog. One or two posts a month is just not cutting it.

Good luck with your manuscript. Count me in as a beta reader. (As long as it’s not TOO scary.)

    1. Aww, a little dark fantasy never heard anyone. LOL

It’s much easier to keep up posting schedule once you get in the habit. It also helps to schedule posts ahead of time. Especially when you just relax and have fun.

  7. I had to come back (no, not for another drink). I forgot to mention that your new site design looks absolutely awesome. The design and color scheme works well for the horror genre.

  8. Social media is tough to disengage from, I think. But then, I’m kind of a social media addict. I’m working a twelve step program to get back to editing more than blogging! I am glad you are finding success in meeting your goals, and I’ve really enjoyed your blog posts!

  9. I can see you’ve had fun with finding pics. Like Lara I’m a bit of a social media addict and need to peel myself away to edit. Busy finishing my schedule for blogging AtoZ challenge coming up in April. Not long now…

    Enjoying the party

  10. Love the partying pics and your goals. Sounds like you are moving right along. And kudos for learning how to juggle so many things at once. That’s a trick I’m still working on.

  11. You work so hard! Here’s my question for you? With your read 2 books a month goal, aren’t you also reading a lot of writing how to books? Maybe it’s overloading you. Try switching to one craft book and one fiction book. Or my favorite trick: audio books! I listen to the book while I’m getting ready in the morning or cleaning the house or driving for awhile.

Love your crazy party pictures, Sonia!

  12. Very cool and original post! Seriously, do you realize how rare it is to view a blog that stands apart from the masses overrunning WordPress?
Good for you! I salute your style and flair!
